Sri Vinayaga Bag Industries was founded in 1990 by Mr. D Vinayagam, in a small unit off Mannady Street in George Town. The first orders were simple: school bags for a handful of Chennai schools, made to a price a parent could live with.
Four decades later the range covers school, laptop, office, gym, travel and trolley bags, and the customers include banks, hospitals, universities and corporates. What has not changed is where the work happens. We still cut, stitch, print, embroider and check in our own unit, with operators who have been at the same machines for twenty years and more.
We are a sole proprietorship, not a trading house. When you call, you reach someone who can tell you what the machine is doing today — not a sales desk reading from a catalogue.

How we work
Three things we refuse to compromise on.

We own the floor
Pattern-making, cutting, stitching, printing, embroidery and quality control all happen in our own unit. Nothing critical is subcontracted, which is the only reason we can hold a delivery date and a specification at the same time.

We check what comes in
Fabric, zips, webbing and hardware are sourced from established suppliers and inspected lot by lot before anything is cut. A bag fails at its cheapest component, so we do not have one.

We tell you what it will do
If PU will not behave like leather, or a print will crack where embroidery would not, we say so before you order. The number of clients who come back is the only marketing we have ever done.
How it’s made
From your drawing to a packed carton.
Four stages, all on our own floor in Chennai. Nothing moves to the next stage until the one before it has been checked — and nothing goes into bulk until you have held the sample in your hands.

Pattern & cutting
Your specification becomes a pattern, then a physical sample. Nothing goes into bulk until you have held the sample and signed it off.
- STEP 02
Stitching
Panels are assembled on industrial machines by operators who have been doing this for decades. Load-bearing joints are bar-tacked, not straight-stitched.
- STEP 03
Print & embroidery
Logos go on before final assembly wherever possible, so the artwork sits inside the seam and cannot lift at the edge.
- STEP 04
Quality check & packing
Every unit is checked for stitch integrity, zip run and hardware finish before it is packed. Rejects go back to the floor, not into the carton.
Sampling usually takes a week. Bulk follows your approval, not our schedule — tell us the date you need stock in hand and we will work backwards from it.

1 Year Warranty
Every bag we ship is covered for a year against manufacturing defects — stitching, zips, hardware and seams.
100% Waterproof
PU-coated shells, waterproof-backed lining and storm-flapped zips. Built for the Chennai monsoon, not a drizzle.
Custom Print
Screen print, sublimation and rubberised badges. Full-panel artwork applied before assembly so edges never crack.
Custom Embroidery
Multi-head industrial embroidery for school crests, club badges and corporate marks that survive repeated washing.
The unit
Come and see it before you order.
Our manufacturing unit runs industrial single- and double-needle machines, bar-tacking machines, a multi-head embroidery setup and a screen-printing and sublimation section, managed by staff who have spent their working lives in this trade.
If you are placing a large order, visit. Ten minutes on the floor tells you more about a manufacturer than any brochure, and we would rather you decided that way.
